Seven hours of restful sleep each night can help you live a longer, healthier life. However, one out of three people do not experience quality sleep, and suffer daily with sleep disorders that lead to health problems, including high blood pressure, stroke and heart attacks.

Fayette Regional recognized the need to expand its Sleep Diagnostic Center, and put plans in motion early 2017 for expansion, according to Kim Briscoe, respiratory therapist and SDC team member.

“We are proud to provide another vital service to the families in our community,” Briscoe said. “We are glad that we are able to make sleep medicine more accessible. Patients can get top-quality sleep testing and treatment in their own community.”

Symptoms of an underlying sleep disorder include snoring, being overweight, morning headaches, irritation, fatigue and difficulty concentrating. You may also wake up during the night with a racing heartbeat or choking. If you have experienced any of these warning signs, you may be a candidate for the Fayette Regional Sleep Program.

Fayette Regional Sleep Diagnostic Center is located at the main hospital campus, 1941 Virginia Ave, Connersville, IN. Although new patients are typically seen for sleep disorders, Fayette Regional is always happy to manage patients with existing sleep disorder diagnoses who are interested in receiving care more convenient to home.
