FAQ

Q: What are the visiting hours?
A: Formal visiting hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., depending on the department.

Q: Are there exceptions to the visiting hours rule?
A: Yes. Spouses or significant others may visit for longer periods of time. Visiting times may be flexible depending on the needs of the patient.

Q: How many people may visit at one time?
A: Please limit visiting to two people at the bedside at one time.

Q: May children visit?
A: Children over the age of 14 are allowed to visit at the discretion of the nursing staff, who will make decisions based on patient safety and care.

Q: When may we call or check with the nurses at the desk about our family?
A: We ask only that morning calls be placed after 9 a.m.  if possible. Also, if you have a large family, please appoint a spokesperson to call for condition reports. Our first priority is the care of your loved one; numerous phone calls can interfere with patient care. The phone number to call is (765) 825-5131. The switchboard will connect you to the appropriate unit.

Q: May inpatients accept gifts during their stay?
A: Because every patient’s condition is unique, please check with the nurse for any restrictions.

Q: May inpatients have reading materials?
A: Yes.

Q: Where can visitors find refreshments for themselves?
A: There are pop and snack machines in the South end of the atrium by the ER entrance. Our cafeteria is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Snacks are also available in the gift shop as well. In several waiting areas, fresh-brewed coffee is available at no cost to you.
