Childbirth Classes

The purpose of the Childbirth Class is to help the mother and the support person of her choosing feel more comfortable and confident about her personal journey through prepared childbirth.

The class is designed to help expectant mothers and their partners prepare for pregnancy and childbirth and to provide relevant information in an easy to understand and casual format.

All mothers are given free gifts for attending the class, including a comprehensive book with subjects like:

  • Alternative Methods & Breathing Techniques
  • Role of the Support Person
  • How Will I Know I am in Labor?

Class Information

Classes are held on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with lunch provided.

Classes are in the Education Classroom on the first floor of the hospital.

Please dress comfortably!

There is no charge for those who choose to deliver at FRHS. A nominal $25 fee is charged to those who choose to deliver elsewhere.

Please complete the attached registration form and return it to FRHS between your 20th and 34th weeks (5th to 7th month) of pregnancy so we can reserve a space for you.

We’ll send you a card confirming the dates of your classes at least one week prior to your class starting date.
